Wow, it's been well over a year (489 days, to be exact) since I last posted a newsletter - I hope you have not forgotten about me!
Writing online has dropped off as a priority for me. Why? I think I have been craving something else and have not been as motivated to write about anything cyber or technology-related as I had been doing in previous newsletters.
Don't get me wrong, cyber security and incident response are still aspects of my life that I enjoy and have devoted thousands of hours to.
But lately, I’ve felt this pull to write about more than just the technical side of life.
The last 2 years have seen me travelling Australia with my family, visiting almost every state and spending too much time hitching and unhitching a caravan.
I’ve been thinking about the pace at which we move through life — and how easy it is to forget that we get to choose what we pay attention to.
I’ve been craving slower mornings. Deeper conversations. Creative work that makes me feel something. And I’ve had this itch to start capturing those moments — the reflections, the curiosities, the things that make life feel meaningful — in a way that feels more personal and less like a LinkedIn post designed to push my career forward.
So, from this point onwards I will be changing what this newsletter is all about. Call it a pivot.
It’s not a cyber security newsletter (though there might be the occasional discussion on tech, digital balance, or mindset).
It’s more like a quiet note from a mate — once a week — with something I’ve noticed, something I’ve learned, and something that might inspire or ground you.
Let’s call it The Kyfer Chronicle.
If this doesn't sound like your jam, then that's okay. Also, do not be afraid to unsubscribe - no hard feelings, and I thank you for reading all those years ago.
If you’re here for this new chapter, thank you.
It means a lot.
Let’s see where it goes.
Good to see you ya back :) Agreed life’s more than work! Looking forward to your chronicles!
